Therapy for veterans and ex-military
James served. That means no explaining the culture, no translating the language, and no reaction when you describe something plainly.

What tends to bring veterans in
Rarely the deployment itself, at first. Usually it is the marriage, the temper, the drinking, the sleep, or a manager who has become a target. The service material is underneath, and it comes up when you are ready for it to.
- Combat and operational trauma
- Moral injury β what you did, or could not do
- Survivor guilt after losing people
- Loss of identity and structure after discharge
How the work is run
Direct, structured, with clear objectives per session and no open-ended drifting. Stabilisation before processing, EMDR for specific targets, and honest feedback about what is and is not working.
Private and off the record
This is private practice. Nothing goes to the chain, to a charity, or onto any service record. Sessions run in Derby city centre or online across the UK.
Common questions
Do I have to have been in combat for this to count?+
No. Training accidents, bullying, medical discharge and abrupt transition all produce the same responses.
Is this linked to Op COURAGE or a charity?+
No β it is independent private practice. If a statutory or charitable route would serve you better, you will be told.
What about my partner?+
Partners can be seen individually. Couples work is not offered here.
