Help with work burnout

Burnout is not weakness and it is not solved by a fortnight in Spain. It is a depletion state, and depletion has a recovery curve.

Help with work burnout

The three components

Exhaustion, cynicism and reduced efficacy. Most people notice the exhaustion, apologise for the cynicism, and are quietly terrified by the efficacy drop β€” because that is the one that looks like incompetence from the outside.

  • Sunday dread that starts on Saturday
  • Compassion fatigue in caring roles
  • Errors and slowness that are not like you
  • Nothing left for family after work

Recovery, then prevention

Early sessions restore capacity β€” sleep, regulation, load reduction. Later sessions address why the load was accepted in the first place, because otherwise recovery simply resets the clock on the same cycle.

You may not need to resign

Some clients do leave. Many do not. The decision is made from a recovered state, not from the bottom of the curve β€” which is the single most useful thing this work offers.

Common questions

Am I burnt out or depressed?+

They overlap. Burnout is usually context-specific β€” it lifts on leave and returns on Monday. That distinction is explored early.

Can you provide a letter for work?+

Fit notes come from your GP. A summary letter can be provided on request if it would help.

How long does recovery take?+

Weeks to months depending on depth. Realistic expectations are set in the first session rather than promised away.
