Help with fear of flying

Fear of flying is rarely one fear. It is usually control, confinement and catastrophe stacked together β€” which is why generic statistics about safety never fix it.

Help with fear of flying

Which fear is actually yours

Some clients fear the aircraft failing. Others fear being trapped, or panicking in front of strangers, or being separated from their children. These need different work, so the first job is naming the real one.

  • Turbulence and unfamiliar aircraft noise
  • Claustrophobia and being unable to leave
  • Panic in front of other passengers
  • Anticipatory dread starting weeks ahead

Preparation with a deadline

Flights come with dates, so this work is planned backwards from yours. Hypnotic rehearsal covers check-in, boarding, take-off, cruise and landing, and you leave with a self-hypnosis recording to use at the gate.

East Midlands Airport is on the doorstep

Many clients are flying from Castle Donington, which makes a short-notice booking realistic. Sessions run in person in Derby or online if time is tight.

Common questions

How far ahead should I book?+

Three to four weeks is comfortable. Shorter is possible but leaves less room for rehearsal.

Will I need to stop taking anything I currently use to fly?+

That is a matter for your GP, not for me. The work runs alongside whatever you already have in place.

What if my fear started after a bad flight?+

Then it is treated as a trauma memory first, using EMDR, before any rehearsal work.
