Help with driving anxiety
Whether it started with a crash on the A38 or crept in over years, driving anxiety shrinks your map β and the smaller the map gets, the harder it is to widen again.

Two very different causes
Post-incident driving fear is a trauma response and is treated as one: the memory is reprocessed with EMDR so it stops replaying at the wheel. Gradual-onset driving anxiety usually has no single event and behaves more like a phobia β treated with hypnosis, rehearsal and graded return.
- Motorway and slip-road avoidance
- Panic in queues, tunnels or on bridges
- Avoiding driving with passengers
- Route-planning to avoid specific junctions
Rehearsal before the road
Hypnotic rehearsal lets you drive the feared route repeatedly in a regulated state before you attempt it physically. That means the first real attempt is not the first attempt your nervous system has experienced.
Getting your radius back
Goals are concrete: the A52 to Nottingham, the A38 north, the M1 junction you have been avoiding. Progress is measured in journeys taken, not in how you felt about it.
Common questions
I had a crash years ago. Is it too late for EMDR?+
No. Memory timelines are not a barrier β decade-old incidents reprocess routinely.
Do you do sessions in the car?+
No, this is clinic-based or online work. In-car practice is done by you between sessions, at a pace you set.
Can this help if I have never passed my test?+
Yes β test anxiety and lesson dread are worked with in the same way.
