Who this is for

Therapy for men in their forties and fifties

Most men here did not arrive because they wanted to. They arrived because something finally cost more than the discomfort of asking.

Therapy for men in their forties and fifties

How it usually presents

Not as sadness. As a short fuse, as drinking a bit more than you would say out loud, as sleeping badly, as no interest in anything, and as a marriage that has gone quiet.

  • Anger at things that never used to matter
  • Drinking to switch off in the evening
  • Grief from years ago that never got dealt with
  • Redundancy, health scare or a parent dying

Direct and practical

Sessions have structure and objectives. You will not be asked how something makes you feel every ten minutes, and there is no requirement to cry to prove it is working.

Short-term is a legitimate goal

Six sessions with a clear target is a perfectly good plan. Open-ended therapy is available but it is not the default.

Common questions

My wife booked this. Is that a problem?+

No, it is a common start. It just needs to become something you want as well.

Do I have to talk about childhood?+

Only if it is relevant to what you came for. It often is, but that is your call.

Can we keep it to a fixed number of sessions?+

Yes. Agreeing a review point at session six is standard practice here.

Structured, direct, finite

One free call. If it is not for you, you will be told that plainly.
